"Jack and the Beanstalk" Finished

Wooo! This one was fun! Definitely should not have procrastinated on it though. Anyways, I feel like I got a little better at trying different brushes to distinguish different textures, and I really like how the yellow light, that's given off from the magical beanstalk, shimmers. If I could change anything, I would have spent more time on the rough sketches, and looked for a better composition. (I always settle on a layout too quickly hehe) But nevertheless, this one is definitely going in the portfolio.

Thumbnails for Jack and the Beanstalk

My Final project is to recreate a classic children's story to a new and different setting and context. I chose to change the story "Jack and the Beanstalk" to feature a small lizard and a T-Rex!

Here are some ideas for the composition that I liked and some plant sketches. I always start with some rough doodles. It helps get my ideas flowing!

More Digital Painting

This assignment was kind of a challenge for me. I'm new to digital painting, and making things look real (and not cartoonish) is not my forte! Overall, I'm happy with how it came out though. I still need to practice using different brushes to create varying textures of wax, bone, and books. Gotta keep practicing!

Another Cat

Just some motivation for anyone going through finals. Wish I could give everyone a Redbull! If only Redbull actually gave everyone wings...

Finished bird project

After selecting one of my old sketchbook drawings, I re-worked it on photoshop and helped my little bird drawing come to life! It was challenging for me, but all in all, i'm proud of the outcome! (Even if I turned it in late teehee) Through this project i have discovered a fun new way to draw and learned a little bit about digital painting along the way. Can't wait to make more art on photoshop :)
